We designed and supervised part of the urban sports park for Stadsoevers in Roosendaal.
In March 2018, the Wielerexperience opened at the former Red Band Sportpark in Roosendaal. Roosendaal is not yet a good place for other sports such as skating, freerunning or basketball. The Vlietpark is a park with space for events and festivals, but also a park for daily use.
As part of the Vlietpark, the Urban Sports Park can also meet the needs of the residential areas on the west side of the track. Larger natural play areas and open-air sports facilities are lacking in these districts.
The Urban Sports Park can develop into a park with a metropolitan impact and at the same time fulfill a neighborhood function. A natural playground for young and old, built with recycled materials such as tree trunks and railway tracks. The Urban Sports Park offers space for a new skating rink. The Olympic status of inline skating and skateboarding may provide an extra impulse to train here often. The new 3X3 basketball form also has Olympic status and can be given a place at the Urban Sports Park.
During the day and in the evening, groups of boot campers, freestylers or runners can use the park, as can freerunners and outdoor fitness practitioners. The Urban Sports Park offers the CIOS the opportunity to provide outdoor lessons and have students give workshops to children from the Westrand. In addition, there is room for green hills with slides, sewer pipes and swings as a playground for the children in the neighborhood.
